Field Events

Overview of throw and jump event recording in rslts.run.

Field Events

Field events use the Distance event type. Results are recorded as measurements in feet rather than times. Each athlete may have multiple attempts; the best valid mark counts.

Throws

Throwing events — shot put, discus, javelin, hammer — record a distance per attempt. Enter the bib number and the throw distance to log each attempt.

Horizontal jumps

Long jump and triple jump record a horizontal distance per attempt. The input works the same as throws: bib number and mark in feet and inches.

High jump and pole vault

Vertical clearance events work differently, and the Distance Recorder does not support true high jump or pole vault attempt tracking. If you use it for these events, enter each athlete’s highest achieved height as the final mark and track bar heights, misses, passes, and countback separately.

Results display

The results page for a field event shows each athlete’s best mark alongside recorded attempts. Marks are ranked from longest or highest to shortest. Invalid attempts (fouls) do not count toward the ranking.
