High Jump

Working around high jump and pole vault scoring in the Distance Recorder.

High Jump

The Distance Recorder does not support full high jump or pole vault attempt tracking. It records numeric marks per athlete, but it does not manage bar heights, passes, misses, or countback.

Recording a final mark

If you run high jump or pole vault in rslts.run, enter each athlete’s highest achieved height as their mark in the Distance Recorder. Use the same units and format you use for other field events.

This gives you a ranked results list by best height, but it does not preserve the full attempt history.

Tracking attempts

Track bar progressions, misses, passes, and countback separately on a paper sheet or another scorekeeping tool. After places are settled, enter the final height for each athlete in rslts.run so the public results page has the achieved marks.

Ties and countback

The results page does not apply high jump countback rules. If two athletes clear the same height, resolve the placing outside the app using your attempt sheet.

Practical workflow

  1. Run the event and track attempts separately.
  2. Determine each athlete’s highest cleared height.
  3. Enter each final height in the Distance Recorder.
  4. Use the Results page for publishing achieved marks, not for deciding countback.
